Who we are

Athlense is a project founded in Bergamo, Italy, and is being incorporated as a company; its name and registered office will appear here as soon as they are available. Contact: info@athlense.com.

The app and the account

You need an Athlense account to use the app. Sessions are saved to your account and synced across your devices, within the limits of your plan. When you sign out, sessions are removed from the phone and remain available in your account; sessions not yet uploaded or kept only on the phone are deleted, unless you export them first.

To create an account you must be at least the minimum age for digital consent in your country: for example 14 in Italy and Spain; 16 where the country is not specified. Provide accurate details, keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone has accessed your account. You can delete the account at any time from the app.

Free and Pro plans

The Free plan is free of charge: the cloud keeps the 50 most recent sessions from the last 90 days and you can have up to 3 active athletes. Athlense Pro adds your whole history in the cloud, up to 100 athletes, a kit shared with up to 5 people and Athlense Live.

At the moment Athlense Pro cannot be purchased in the app and is activated by Athlense on request. When the subscription becomes available, price, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase.

When Pro ends, the people you invited can no longer connect to your kits, 3 athletes of your choice stay active (the others are archived with their history), the Athlense Live link stops working and the cloud returns to the Free plan limits.

Kits and devices

When you set up an AthLink, the kit is linked to your account: only the owner and, with Athlense Pro, the people they invite can connect to it. You can release the kit from the app or with the USB cable reset described in the instructions.

Do not try to connect to kits that are not yours, to bypass the protection mechanisms or to modify the firmware other than through the update provided by the app. Do not interrupt a firmware update in progress.

If you share a kit, the people you invite can time runs, change the course and see every session and athlete of the kit. You can remove them at any time from the app.

Timing accuracy

Athlense is designed for training. It is not a timing system approved for official competitions. Accuracy depends on how the photocells are placed, on GPS reception and on radio conditions: always check the results that matter.

Acceptable use

• Use the devices according to the instructions and local rules, including those on radio frequencies.
• Do not use the online services for unlawful purposes, to enter offensive content or data about other people you are not entitled to share.
• Share Athlense Live links only with people who may see the times and, if turned on, the athletes' names.
• Do not overload, attack or automatically scan the online services, except as the law always allows.

If these terms are not respected we may suspend or close the account, after notifying you where possible.

Online services and updates

We do our best to keep the online services available and secure, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or external causes. Timing also works without internet; a connection is needed to sign in, sync sessions and use Athlense Live. We may improve or change the app, firmware and services; if we remove important features we tell you beforehand.

Intellectual property

The app, firmware, website, trademarks and content belong to Athlense or their respective owners. You may use them for your personal use or your sports activity; you may not copy or distribute them beyond what the law allows. The data you enter remains yours.

Liability and warranty

We are liable for damage caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence and in every case provided for by law. We are not liable for damage caused by use that does not follow the instructions or by causes beyond our control. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer law grants to consumers.

Products come with the legal guarantee of conformity under the Italian Consumer Code (24 months for consumers). Registering the product in the app helps with support, but it is not required for the legal guarantee.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, disputes fall under the courts of the place where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the version in force. For important changes we let you know in the app or by email before they apply.
